FAQs

How much do your wine consultant services cost?

It depends. Here are two examples.

Once I met a client and walked them around their local wine store. We spent about an hour reading labels and establishing ground rules for matching wine to their palate. This could cost about $100.

Another example, I went with a couple to their vacation home in Southampton, they spent the week entertaining friends and relaxing. I did all wine buying, pairing, and managed servers. I coordinated with the chef. I made sure they had Franciacorta by the pool for their pre-lunch aperitivo and 1982 Bordeaux to pair with their big Argentine-style barbecue party. This could cost anywhere between $3,500-$5,000.

You are Italian. Do you only know Italian wines?

I might be Italian, but am deeply educated in all the major wine producing countries in the world. I love French wine; nothing compares to Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. I also love obscure, lesser known wines; have you ever tried Saperavi from Georgia?

Do you travel for wine clients?

I am based in NYC, but travel for my clients. I often go to the Hamptons or other places around NYC. I am always up for a trip! Once I went to Zurich to re-organize a client's cellar. Another time I accompanied an A-lister on their private plane to pair wine throughout their flight.

What has been your most un-expected client?

I once designed a Champagne tasting for bachelorette party. It was a group of women, 2-hour long Champagne tasting. These women knew their Champagne and were excited to learn more. It was the perfect non-tacky, very classy bachelorette event.
